Course overview

Cognitive development means how children think, explore and figure things out. It is the development of knowledge, skills, problem solving and dispositions which help children to think about and understand the world around them.

In this course, we will explore:

·       How babies make decisions, identify patterns and predict.

·       The connection between thinking and moving.

·       The key cognitive skills young children develop.

    Anyone who works with children from birth to the age of five in an early years or childcare setting.

  • What you need to know

    You can access at a time and in a place that best suits you as you have 90 days to complete the course from the point of purchase. You can also log onto the course over several days if you’re not able to complete the course in one session.

Fiona Holiday

I started my career as a teacher specialising in Early Years, have worked as a deputy head teacher in a primary school and spent many years as a local authority advisory teacher for Early Years education, with a particular focus on social and emotional development and inclusion. I am now a certified play and creative arts therapist, working in private practice and with some charities to provide therapeutic support. I am a keynote speaker, trainer and consultant, working with schools, early years settings, local authorities and other organisations. I am also an artist and illustrator, using creativity to connect with myself and others.
