Course overview

The EYFS encourages the development of 'positive behaviour' such as emotional literacy. Emotional literacy is the term used to describe our ability to recognise, understand, cope with and express emotions. It draws upon the significance of emotional well-being and how adults need to encourage and support children to become emotionally literate. Understanding what motivates us to behave in different ways is crucial in supporting children to manage their behaviour.

In this course, we will unpick ideas around behaviour and behaviour management and explore:

·       What we mean by behaviour.

·       Emotions, emotional literacy and emotion coaching.

·       Self-regulation and co-regulation.
